My Vacation in Belize

I travelled to Belize in Central America back in November 2007 to visit some distant relatives. I had a fantastic time out there, I went off shore reef snorkling and sore some exotic marine plants, beautiful fish, turtules and also some 8'- 9' nurse sharks. I also went cave tubing, mountain biking, hyking, kyaking, treetop zip lining, site seeing, attended a carnival and met with my grandfathers family for the first time! I stayed for 2 weeks in a beach front villa with my family in a costal village called "Hopkins".
I saw some beach homes that where under construction and was amazed by how cheap they where selling the land for. I took some pictures of the types of houses people where building. The land out there has not really been dicovered, so there is achers of prime real estate going for penuts! Mostly people from the Americas come to live out there, its only a 2 hour flight to Miami! The local people are really friendly and trusting, I remember we stopped at a junction to let this familly hop in the back of our truck and the mother opened the passenger door and handed me there baby! They didnt seen to mind a jott. There a lot of people who cannnot afford cars and walk from A-B so we gave people lifts everywhere we went!

Rotterdam Trip

Here are some images from my time in Rotterdam with L1 (landscape 1st yr) back in February 2008. I enjoyed my time in Rotterdam, It was the first time I had been to the Netherlands I and would like to go back there again but in the summer! There seems to be new and interesting architecture springing up everywhere you look. I enjoyed finding out how the place functions and how the culture differed from UK. When we took a water taxi we meet an up and coming American film maker who was attending the international film festival and got talking which was a another highlight of the day.

Changing Seasons

This is a photoshop animation that shows one of my concept designs for Rotterdam. The animation is showing what my design would look like through the seasons. Its a bycycle park that is made from timber, and it has area's where you can plant trees and shrubs. At night it illuminates the trees planted on it with a light at the trunk of each tree. I have designed this bike park to incourage local workers who dont live far away to cycle into work to reduce C02 emissions.
